Further updates to the List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment (LQEA) have been announced, which will provide a streamlined visa pathway for applicants with overseas qualifications, from more countries. Immigration New Zealand is set to implement Phase 2 updates to the LQEA from 25 March 2024.
Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming changes:
Newly Added Countries: Starting 25th March 2024, qualifications obtained in the following countries will be included:
- Australia
- Canada
- China
- Fiji
- Japan
Updates to Existing Countries: Additionally, updates will be made to the qualifications list for countries that were previously added to the LQEA in September 2023, including:
- Malaysia
- South Africa
- United States of America
These updates include:
- Inclusion of Master’s degrees from Malaysia
- Addition of Doctoral Degrees from South Africa and the United States of America
More qualifications from additional countries will be added to the LQEA in further phases.
