From 10th August 2020, INZ will start charging for all border exception Expression of Interest requests. The fees will be payable when you submit your form online.
The fees are:
- NZD $380 for employers who request exceptions for ‘other critical workers’ (or organisations or agencies that sponsor requests), and
- NZD $45 for individual requests under all critical purpose categories.
Employers will be able to make requests for an exception for ‘other critical workers’ online, replacing the existing manual process.
Why are INZ introducing the charge?
Over the last few months, INZ have received more than 27,000 border exception requests and around 5,400 visa applications from people invited to apply. As a result of the high volume, a charge has been implemented to cover the processing costs.
