The New Zealand Working Holiday Visa for UK travellers will be changing, on 1st July 2023, and some positive changes are being introduced:
From 1 July 2023, the Working Holiday Visa will:
- be open to UK travellers aged 18-35 years
- allow UK travellers to stay in New Zealand for up to three years, and
- work for the full duration of their visa
As part of these changes, an annual cap of 15,000 UK Working Holiday Visas per year will also be introduced.
When travellers plan to stay for over 12 months, medical and chest x-ray certificates will be required. And if they plan to stay for the full 3 years, then police certificates will also be required.
Existing Working Holiday Visa holders
From 1 July 2023, existing UK Working Holiday visa holders will be able to apply to extend their stay for up to 3 years, and to work for the rest of their time in New Zealand. And they will need to provide a medical and x-ray certificate, if they haven’t already, as well as police certificates.
