Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced that it is extending the initial accreditation period for Accredited Employer Work Visa employers, to provide them with more certainty as they get used to the accreditation system.

Employers who are currently accredited do not need to take any action. Their accreditation will be automatically extended for 24 months from their approval date. Employers will receive notification when their current accreditation certificate’s expiry date is updated in the enhanced Immigration Online system. Accredited employer’s details should be updated by 2 June 2023.

Employers with accreditation applications in process do not need to take any action. If approved, their 12-month accreditation will be updated to 24 months in the enhanced Immigration Online system, and they will be notified.

New accreditation applications made before 4 July 2023 that are approved will be granted 24 months of accreditation. However, first-time accreditation applications made after 4 July 2023 that are approved will be granted 12 months of accreditation.

This announcement is good news for AEWV scheme employers who are seeking more certainty in the accreditation process.
