Tier 2 of the Green List will expand significantly in March 2023. The following roles will have a work to residence pathway, which will allow you to apply for residence after working in the role for 2 years in New Zealand:
- All secondary school teachers (in addition to the secondary school teaching roles already included on the Green List)
- Primary school teachers
- Halal Slaughterer
- Skilled Motor Mechanic
- Skilled Telecommunications Technician
- Gasfitter
- Drainlayer
- Building Associate (specifically Civil Construction Supervisor)
- Skilled Crane Operator
- Earthmoving Plant Operator (General)
- Backhoe Operator
- Bulldozer Operator
- Excavator Operator
- Grader Operator
- Loader Operator
Sector Agreement for Bus and Truck drivers
Bus and truck drivers will have a residence pathway, from March 2023, which will allow them to apply for residence after working in New Zealand for 2 years. This will be a temporary sector agreement.
Tier 1 of the Green List will see the addition of Registered Auditors from March 2023, offering Auditors the Straight to Residence pathway.
